So, i start writing this blog, this year (a fatidical one, i might say) when the “political games from the ESC backstage” dictated: this year, the contest will take place in Azerbaijan. I’ve tried to stay updated and searched on Google because i have to be sincere, i didn’t know much about this country, except some political problems and some conflicts with… Armenia. Many of you might know all the fightings from eurovision.tv. On Youtube, here’s what i’ve found:
Azerbaijan was ranked 146 by Reporters without frontiers, in 2010, in terms of mass-media freedom. Actually, this low scorings are registered by all the neighbour-countries: Russia (158), Armenia (111), Turkey (122), Iran (172). Last year, a blogger was arrested and sent to prison because he posted a youtube vide “dedicated” to Mister President, that lugubrious Ilham Aliyev, naming him a donkey.
